On 9 August, at San Sebastian in Spain, the colt Mountasir by Tabarak out of Basilic d'Elios (Elios de Carrere) won the 1500 meters Wathba Stallions Cup. Born and raised at the Grand Courgeon Stud for SCEA Haras de Victot, the four-year-old carries the silks of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani. He is trained by Thomas Fourcy and jockey Jérôme Cabre led him to his first success abroad.
