On 16 December at Doha racecourse, Mwarid by Amer out of Al Nachmiya (Azadi) lifted the Group 2PA The Late Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani Trophy - Qatar National Day Trophy run over 2000m. Owned by Al Shaqab Racing, the five-year-old, born and bred at The Grand Courgeon Stud, is trained by Alban de Mieulle. Jockey Soufiane Saadi guided him to his first success at the Group PA level.
