On 18 January at Doha, the numerous Group PA winner Abbes by TM Fred Texas out of Raqiyah (Amer) made a successful seasonal reappearance when he lifted the Group 3PA Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani Trophy run over 2200m. Born and bred at the Grand Courgeon Stud for the SCEA of the Haras de Victot, the eight-year-old stallion is owned by Wathnan Racing and he is trained by Alban de Mieulle. For his first start of 2025 he was partnered by jockey James Doyle.
