On 7 January, Tayf, the winner of the Group 1 PA Qatar Arabian World Cup 2020, made a successful seasonal return to the competition when he lifted the Group 2 PA Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani Cup at Doha. Bred by the Grand Courgeon Stud for HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani and owned by Umm Qarn, Tayf is trained by Alban de Mieulle and was ridden by Ronan Thomas. At the age of 9, he is still in great form, beating a high-class field by 3 ¼ lengths.
