On 1st April at Al Rayyan racecourse, at Doha, Tayf by Amer out of Djelmila (Manganate) won the 2000 metres Group 1PA Qatar Gold Sword in front of a top-class field. Born and bred at the Grand Courgeon Stud for HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani who also owns him, the nine-year-old, who is also the winner of the last edition of the Group 1PA Qatar Arabian World Cup, is trained by Alban de Mieulle. Jockey Ronan Thomas guided him to this fabulous victory.
