On 1st November at Compiegne, Matfog by Style Vendome out of Crystal Reef (King's Best) got his first Group 2 victory when he lifted the 4900m Grand Steeple Chase of Compiegne. Bred by Al Shaqab Racing, the five-year-old is trained by Arnaud Chaille-Chaille and he carries the silks of Mr Mohammed Saad M.A. Al Romaihi. Jockey Thomas Coutant was in the saddle.
