On 5 January, Jabalah by Al Mamun Monlau out of Kouthar (Nizam) successfully defended his title in the 1600m Group 2PA HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifah Al Thani Cup at Doha. Bred at the Haras du Grand Courgeon for the SCEA of the Haras de Victot, the Alban de Mieulle trained seven-year-old sported the colours of Wathnan Racing. Jabalah who won this race for the second consecutive year, was partenered by Soufiane Saadi.
